Abstract:

To obtainthe parameters of InN semiconductor compound in wurtzite (WZ) and zincblende (ZB) structures, we have carried out a first-principle total-energy calculation of the structural, electronic and optical properties for WZ and ZB InN semiconductor with density functional theory with Generalized Gradient Approximations (GGA) and modified Becke–Johnson (mBJ) potential. To find the best parameters for each structure, we have optimized the total energy as a function of the unit cell volume and the c/a ratio for the wurtzite structure and for zincblende structure, the total energy as a function of the unit cell volume and the lattice parameter. Our calculations have shown agreement with the other theoretical and experimental results. The electronic band structures were calculated from the optimized lattice parameter with GGA and mBJ potential using Full Potential Linearized Augmented Plane Wave (FP-LAPW) method. The optical properties, including the real and imaginary part of dielectric function, reflectivity, refractive index, absorption coefficient, electron energy loss function and optical conductivity of WZ and ZB InN semiconductor under ambient conditions are discussed.


Abstract:

INTRODUCTION: The study was investigated to ameliorative effects of curcumin against E.coli infection induced hypothyroidism in mice. Female mice were E.coli induced intraperitoneal and mitochondrial-targeted curcumin (mt-c) give orally.
METHOD: The present investigation was conducted, Mitochondrial targeted curcumin synthesized by covalent linkage of curcumin with lipophilic cation. TPP (1.31 gm) reacted with HBr (350 ml) precursor to obtain lipophilicity. Reverse osmosis (RO) water 200 μl in (5×106) E.coli, and DMSO (2% v/v) were injected in mice by intraperitoneal, after three days 100 μl mt-c (0.12 mg/100 μl), RO water and DMSO were induced in mice for seven days. Control group mice for each experimental setup were given simultaneously RO water and DMSO.
RESULT: The thyroid gland weight of mice increased after bacterial toxicity and ameliorate with mt-C its weight decrease, the level of T3 and T4 decerase against bacterial toxicity and ameliorate with mt-C its level increased, Lipid peroxidation and Superoxide dismutase (SOD) increased the level against bacterial toxicity and ameliorate with mt-C its value decreased,where as level of GSH after toxicity decreased and ameliorate with mt-C its value increased. 
CONCLUSION: The data suggest that effect of mt-c positive against E.coli toxicity on thyroid gland, which could be direct involvement of mt-c on the thyroid gland of mice.

Abstract:

The Indian ageing population is currently the second largest in the world. Projections are being made that India will house 300 million elderly by 2050 and ageing adults will form 19% of the total population. Ageing adult is a period of transition when one has to deal not only with the physical health, but also with the challenges affecting the mental and social wellbeing. Among the various mental disorders, depression accounts for the greatest burden among ageing adults. Depression is the most common psychiatric disorder among ageing adults. Depression is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest also called major depressive disorder, it affects how you feel, think and behave and lead to a variety of emotional problems. The World Health Organization (WHO) has predicted that by 2020 depression will become the third leading cause of disability worldwide. Depression has many symptoms which occurs in ageing adults, these are sad and downcast mood, recurrent thoughts of death or suicide, loss of interest in activities, feelings of hopelessness, worthlessness, guilt, or helplessness; feelings of being keyed up or slowed down, avoidance of social interactions, poor concentration and memory and difficulty in starting anything new or making decisions. Studies have reported depression to be more common among females. Other demographic factors that have been associated with depression among ageing adults include being unmarried, divorced or widowed elderly, residing in rural locality, being illiterate, increasing age, lower socioeconomic status and unemployment. Depression has also been shown to be associated with various psychosocial factors, lifestyle and dietary factors, and presence of chronic physical illness.


Abstract:

This paper presents an insight into the learning experiences of the design studio in a specific time-space axis. Variable and ambiguous meanings of architectural design studio culture concept are tried to be made visiblein the institutional culture ground of Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Architecture.Assuming that learner centered on its nature, and proposing an integrative and inclusive model for our era, the studio-based education environment is investigated, focused on its intangible dynamics. First, analysis of present studio culture policies from overseas NAAB and national MİAK, in the light of a software-based research tool MAXQDA, led to identify the prior principles of the 21st-century studio culture as; (1)critical thinking, (2)communication and interaction, (3)multiplicity, (4)individuality in collaboration, (5)social responsibility, (6)self-regulation. These allowed comparisons offormal approaches to the concept, and moreover, provided data for the interview study. Subsequently,the semi-structured in-depth interviews, analyzed with the same tool, enabled evaluations on informal being of the institution’s studio cultures as a fragment.The main critical finding is that the emphasis on the last principle in overseas accreditation documents lacks in national ones, and the last two principles are hard to achieve for the participated students. Widened on these findings, the interrelations of the principles and potentials of studio culture is discussed, aiming for providing intangible data onto architectural design education.

Abstract:

This paper analyses the factors that led to the success of micro finance, in particular, Grameen Bank (GB) in Bangladesh. The study covers different critical success factors such as the innovation, design and implementation of GB, the adaptation and learning practice of GB, the motivation and contribution of GB and some environmental factors that supported Micro finance success in GB especially in Bangladesh. The contribution of microfinance in Bangladesh economy is also identified in the study. The positivist viewpoints along with inductive approach are followed as a research philosophy. The positivism methods in conjunction with inductive and quantitative approach have applied to find out the fey factors that aided micro finance of GB. The qualitative approach has selected for the purpose of identifying the role of micro finance at different sectors in Bangladesh economy. It has been found that all factors in the model adopted in the conceptual framework have contributed to the success of microfinance of GB. The micro finance also helps to the sustainable development of Bangladesh economy especially in rural areas.
